IIRS ISRO External Student Internship 2026 – Complete Details

The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a unit of ISRO, has announced its External Student Internship Program for 2026. 1. Internship Scheme

Open to UG/PG/PhD students from recognized universities in India or abroad.
Applicants must be Indian citizens.
Eligibility: Minimum 60% aggregate marks or CGPA 6.32/10.
Duration: Minimum 45 days.
Students who have completed their degree within 6 months of application are also eligible.

2. Student Project Trainee Scheme

3. General Guidelines

Only Indian nationals can apply.
Selection depends on seat availability, faculty consent, academic record, and subject relevance.
Internship period extension is not allowed.
Confirmation will be sent via email and will also appear on the IIRS admission portal.
No stipend, accommodation, or financial assistance will be provided.
Students must bring original documents, 3 passport-sized photos, and valid ID proof at the time of joining.
Application deadlines: 31st October & 31st March every year.
Only online applications will be accepted.

Register and fill out the online internship application form.
Upload required documents including NOC/Recommendation from your institution.
Submit the form before the last date.

5. Important Points

Internship will be allotted based on availability of projects and faculty expertise.
Only unclassified areas of ISRO labs are accessible to interns.
Interns must seek clearance before publishing any reports or papers based on their work at ISRO.
Certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion and evaluation.
